Sheboygan Chiropractor | Dr. Rich Knowles
When I was a kid, a large tree fell on my head. I know what you’re thinking: “that explains a lot!”
When I was about eight years old, I was riding my bike by our house in the country with my next door neighbor. At the same time, my dad was cutting down a rather large tree that was near the road. Long story short, my head met the tree as it was falling. Everything turned out okay, except I had a very stiff neck. The doctors at the hospital said I would be fine in a couple of weeks, and just to take it easy. My parents thought that I should be checked out by our family chiropractor, Dr. Mike Saatkamp. I was a little scared at first, because I was in pain, but Dr. Mike did a thorough examination and, after just a couple of visits, I was feeling worlds better. I have been adjusted ever since and I still continue to get adjusted every other week to maintain my spinal health. It was this experience, and the fact that I witnessed Dr. Mike help countless people, that inspired me to become a chiropractor.
Education
Dr. Knowles went to undergraduate school at The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire where he graduated Cum Laude with a biology degree. During his time there, he took his basic science courses and even helped teach an anatomy course. After four years at Eau Claire, he was accepted to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis Missouri. While at Logan, he did extensive course work in human anatomy, x-ray analysis, adjusting techniques, and diagnosis.
“I have seen patients that have ranged from one hour old to 102 years old. I only have one rule for my patients: They must want to make an effort to get better. There is a strong connection between mind and body. If we get the mind motivated to tell the body to get up off the couch, we have a fighting chance.”
My Philosophy
I strive to keep the communication lines open between myself and every patient. I encourage people to ask questions, and I welcome all feedback…positive and negative. If there is something that is keeping you from treatment, money, unsupportive spouse, time, or anything else, I want you to feel comfortable enough to tell me.
Outside the Office
“I met my wife, Tricia, in Eau Claire when we were both working at a local restaurant. She taught me a lot then (like how to mop a floor) and she continues to teach me things every day. We had our first child, Davis, in September 2006. Our second child, Jacoby, was born in December 2008. Both kids like to come and help out at the office sometimes, so you may see them there.”
“Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Thanks for visiting our site. Give our office a call or click here to email me.”
